2008 has had its share of ups and downs; what better way to send it out in style and welcome a wonderful 2009 than with friends and family at our New Year's Eve jazz extravaganza. Music and unique handcrafted menus will be available in our Main Dining Room and the Undercroft.
Dining Room guests will enjoy entertainment by pianist Ben Murray and an a la carte menu featuring a fine selection of delightful dishes prepared with the freshest local ingredients. Highlights include a salad of baby arugula, dried cranberries, persimmons, pears, Tonjes Beachwood Blue cheese and toasted pecans in blood orange vinaigrette; a parmesan and chanterelle risotto appetizer with white truffle oil; and a variety of entrees including roasted Forks Farm chicken breast, mashed new potatoes with Champagne and black currant sauce or Liedy's Farm Pennsylvania roast pork loin and braised pork belly with spiced cider glaze.
The atmosphere in the Undercroft will set you on course for smooth sailing in 2009 with the creative combination of a delicious dinner and the jazz stylings of vocalist Thos Shipley. Equally at home in the most intimate New York and international clubs, Shipley's jazz and R&B vocal pyrotechnics have put him in a category that is singularly his own.
Highlights of our three-course feast include spinach oyster bisque; poached shrimp with avocado and pineapple salsa; macadamia grouper with honey lemon thyme buerre blanc and brown basmati rice, passion fruit and baby bok choy; or a trio of seasonal raviolis in sherry brown butter and sage sauce with wilted spinach and parmesan. Champagne is the signature celebratory drink for special occasions, but if your taste buds have never ventured out of France's legendary wine region you're missing out on a sparkling opportunity. Bubbly comes in an array of flavors from around the globe. Sample some of the finest at "A Sparkling Affair" wine dinner on Friday, December 19. Join sommelier Claude Briere, Executive Chef Grant Genzlinger and Chef de Cuisine Ben Sutter for an elegant marriage of the finest foods and Champagnes of the holiday season. From January through March, The Inn is offering guests an artful blend of relaxation and outdoor sport.
