Summertime has finally arrived, and with it the urge to be outside. Whether you enjoy kayaking down the wild and scenic Upper Delaware River, an afternoon of shopping at downtown Hawley’s eclectic antique and specialty shops, or a concert under the stars at the Dorflinger Sanctuary’s Wildflower Music Festival there isn’t a more fitting finale to your activities than an outdoor dining experience at The Settlers Inn.
The Inn’s deck is now open every day, and features our new summer menus highlighting quality products of local farmers and producers such as Liberty Gardens, Mountain Dell Farm and Gorzynski’s Ornery Farm. Menu items include: Local Arugula and Fresh Strawberry Salad with Tait Farms Raspberry Vinaigrette; Steamed Prince Edward Island Mussels; Sesame Crusted Ahi Tuna served on Local Asian Greens with Wasabi Soy Vinaigrette; and French Chicken Breast Pan Jus and White Truffle Oil with String Beans and Chive Mashed Potatoes.
Live Jazz on the Deck will happen every Wednesday evening, from 6 to 9 PM, beginning July 11. Come enjoy fantastic food and funky sounds on the deck this summer season.
Don’t forget to meander through the Inn’s lush gardens and stop by The Potting Shed, now open for year-round shopping, featuring high quality merchandise that changes with each season! The Potting Shed is currently dressed for Spring with playful ducks and whimsical umbrellas, but soon it will transform for Summer when new items and a fresh décor are unveiled during the third week in June.

Summer brings so many wonderful friends back to the Inn, including Wine Steward Claude Briere, who will infuse your senses with an adventurous blind taste comparison of five fine wines from Chile and California. Claude’s selections will be accompanied by an American menu to complement the North and South American wines. Each course of the five-course dinner will compare different wines of the same varietals such as sauvignon blanc and chardonnay. The event kicks off The Inn’s 2007 Wine Dinner Series, a complete listing of which can be found on our website.
