Fall Newsletter 2004
The Delaware Highlands region of the Pocono Mountains comes alive in the fall. Clean crisp air blends with beautiful blue skies and the fall foliage is truly vibrant and energizing. This year the season will be particularly lush as the gift of summer rain keeps rivers and streams full and waterfalls cascading. Paddle the Delaware and spot an eagle soaring overhead. Hike to the waterfalls, bike along the meandering Lackawaxen River…and plan to spend time at The Settlers Inn.

Savor autumn’s bounty
After a day of adventure nothing is more satisfying than returning to the Inn for an incredible dinner. This is our favorite season to cook for you. The local organic produce is at its harvest peak. Sit back, relax and unwind by an evening fire; sip a glass of wine and recount the memories of a wonderful day.

Original Victorian Christmas Returns to the Inn

Victorian Christmas details:

  • Horse and carriage rides in Bingham Park, complete with a footman to assist.
  • Mulled wine, champagne, and hors d’oeuvres by the fireplace
  • Elaborate holiday menu prepared and served as it would have been in the early 1900’s at an elegant country estate
  • Festive dessert table with a choice for all the twelve days of Christmas.
  • St. John’s Christmas Choir blends the sounds of the season with the magic of candlelight and evergreens

The magical holiday tradition is back! Join us December 3-5 as we transform The Settlers Inn into a Victorian Country Lodge and turn back the hands of time to an era of style and grace.

A holiday transformation
Preparations begin a week in advance as we deck the halls with evergreens and trim Christmas trees. We polish the silver, press the tablecloths, bake the breads, simmer the stocks, hang the wreaths, and bake a perfect replica of The Settlers Inn – all in gingerbread.
